Mary, announced from the beginning as the new Eve, shines as a star that precedes Christ and conquers sin forever. Contemplating her light, faith is strengthened, the heart learns to trust as a child and opens to the hope of salvation. Today, we are invited to have a small gesture of filial trust with her and to place, one by one, the people and situations that need to be led to Jesus in her hands.

Mary is the new “House of Gold,” a living and beautiful temple prepared by God to be the dwelling of His Son and the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit. In Her, we contemplate the fullness of the gifts of the Spirit and the true wisdom that judges all from God. We are invited to resemble this House of Gold with concrete gestures of purity, piety, and strength, presenting to Her Heart the needs of the Church and those who suffer the most.

Mary responds to the angel’s announcement with a total “let it be,” which opens the way in history for the Incarnation and our salvation. Her obedience of faith also illuminates our own vocation and teaches us to seek, above personal likes and plans, the will of God. Today, it is proposed to renew that unconditional “yes” with some concrete act of availability and to place in Her hands the struggles and decisions in which we most need light.

With Mary, true joy bursts into the world, because through her “fiat” Christ, the Savior, comes to us. She brings joy and peace wherever she goes and teaches how to transform everyday life into a source of comfort and hope for others. This day invites us to reject barren sadness, to offer a smile or a gesture of service, and to entrust to the Virgin all those who need to recover joy.

Like a myterious rose, Mary unites beauty, fragrance, and thorns: dazzling purity, a life of constant prayer, and participation in her Son’s Cross. By observing how she keeps and meditates on everything in her heart, we learn to make our lives a prayer that scents the world. Today, it is proposed to devote a moment to prayer (mental or vocal, especially the Rosary) and offer it for those who feel far from God.

Mary reveals herself to us on this day as Mother Most Amiable, tender and close, who receives from Jesus the mission to be mother of each one of us and accompanies us on all our paths. In the contemplation of the Magníficat and at the foot of the Cross, we discover her merciful gaze, her heart attentive to our sufferings, and her desire to engender us to a new life in Christ. This day is an invitation to welcome her into our home as the beloved disciple did, to call her with confidence “my Mother,” and to let ourselves be educated by her love to learn to treat Jesus and those around us better.

The Virgin Mary offers maternal refuge to sinners as co-redeemer with Christ, prophesied by Simeon at the Presentation (Lk 2:25-35).​ With merciful presence in Penance, she facilitates repentance and reconciliation, as taught by Church Fathers and Vatican II, inviting humble confession to find peace.​ She is a secure refuge against temptations under her protective mantle, impelling contrition and intercession for those living in sin.

At the Wedding at Cana, Mary intercedes with Jesus for human needs, becoming the Gate of Heaven that guides us to Him as the mediator of all graces. Church Fathers and Popes highlight her essential role: through Her, divine blessings descend, easing the path to eternal salvation. Invoking Her as Ianua Caeli, we trust in her powerful maternal intercession to enter the Father’s House.

On this feast, we contemplate Mary as completely free from sin from the first moment of her existence, created as a masterpiece of grace to be the Mother of the Savior. In meditating on Tradition and the Magisterium, the Church recognizes in Her the beginning of the new creation and the definitive triumph of Christ over evil. Today, we are invited to deepen our faith by giving thanks for this singular gift, to offer the Virgin some concrete gesture of purity, humility, or service, and to confidently present to Her all the people and situations that need to be renewed by God’s mercy.
