This majestic medieval fortress dates back to the 10th century! Its adjacent buildings offer vast space to welcome all 560 camp participants. Nestled among Navarra’s stunning mountains, it’s our gateway to thrilling outdoor adventures and rich cultural experiences, as well as a spiritual inspiration as the birthplace of Saint Francis Xavier.

On-Site Activities

25 countries. One flame.

From taking your traditional “siesta” under the shade to a full blown Spanish town summer festival – On-site activities will be full of surprises designed to meet new friends, share experiences, improve your arts and creative skills, dive into the local culture and much more.

Off-Site Activities

Heartbeats under the sun!

Navarra is a priviledged location in Spain for outdoors activities in iconic natural locations. Get ready for unbelievable landscapes, beautiful biodiversity, and thrilling sports – all carefully selected and adapted for our guests.

Spirituality

Surge et Ambula

Spirituality at the Order of Malta is embodied in the service we do as volunteers. At Malta Camp we want this service to be an inspiration to all participants – guests and volunteers – to bravely walk in Our Lord’s footsteps towards a stronger mission in service to our lords the sick and the poor.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Program

Have questions about the daily routine, the activities, or how to prepare your team’s registration? Here are the most important answers at a glance:

What does a typical camp day look like?

Every day starts with a shared breakfast and ends with Team Time, a shared diner and a disco.
Other than that, there is no typical day at Malta Camp, but rather three types of day:
– Days at Javier: bonding games, scavenger hunts, creative workships, fun games and some special visits.
– Full-Camp excursions: all 500+ participants will go out on two very special excursions in the Pamplona area.
– On-Site / Off-Site Activities: during two full days, all guests will have a chance to choose from several activities at Javier and in different locations around Camp.

Yes, during the On-Site / Off-Site activities days, guests from all delegations will be able to choose several specific activities from the catalogue that our Activities Team will share with their Team Leaders.

Yes, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor areas in Javier where guests can rest and have some quiet.
Our Guest Experience Team will install chill-out and lounge areas around camp to make sure all spots are comfortable and located under the shade.
In addition, our priviledged location has several fully equipped chapels where spend some quiet time and meditate.

We are working hard to be ready for all kinds of bad weather – not only rain (which is possible), but also extreme heat. The entire Malta Camp program in Spain will have a Plan B to make sure no fun is lost in the worst case scenario!

The vast majority of workshops and activities on site will be lead by our experienced Staff. On-Site Activities will also include workshops and experiences provided by professionals.
All Off-Site Activities will be heald at center and locations that professionally offer such experiences. All these activities will be tested previously by our Staff to make sure they are sufficiently safe and accessible for our guests.

All specific material that participants may need to fully enjoy their activities will be specified in the packing list that our People Team will share with Team Leaders after Registration.
Nevertheless, no specific sporting equipment should be required, as providers will bring all the necessary material.
